Text Foundational Truths

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, (2 Timothy 4:3)

To God, it matters what we believe and live. We might live a moral life, but without a correct belief no one is right with God. On the other hand, we might have correct doctrine but live in such a way that God is denied. We live in a time period when the church and world will not endure sound teaching. That is, they are hostile to even discussing what might constitute holy doctrine and life. Each person today seems determined to find a church they are comfortable with and teachers that will suit their own opinions and wants. Sound Doctrine Ministries desire to hate their own passions and seek instead the will of God that opposes the sinfulness of man.

Like any solid building, the foundation is of the utmost importance. Without a good foundation, the rest of the building is destined to crumble into ruin. Below are the foundational beliefs of Sound Doctrine Ministries. It is upon these doctrines that all else is built.

Love empowered by the Holy Spirit for God and man is the most important matter and the essential goal of Jesus Christ. Everything else at Sound Doctrine Ministries has its foundation in Christ upon this desired fruit from the Holy Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 13:1-13, John 13:35)

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and only through the Holy Spirit may we understand it.
(2 Timothy 3:16, Luke 24:45)

Only through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross can mercy be freely given by God to worthless sinners. Jesus paid the price of punishment for our sins.
(Romans 3:12, Acts 4:12)

The concept of Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with each being separate yet fully God is supported in Scripture.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians 8:5-6, John
14:9, Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 3:17)

Leadership can, is, and should be held ac- accountable by the power of the Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 5:20, 1 John 1:7)

Only those who hate their lives, deny themselves, and pick up their cross to follow Jesus are Christians.
(John 12:25, Matthew 6:24, Luke 9:23, 14:25-35)

No spiritual insanity is allowed. We do not preach miracles or hermeneutics, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
(1 Corinthians 1:22-24, 2:1-2)

We believe and practice Biblical church discipline.
(1 Corinthians 5:11, Ephesians 5:1-7,
2 Thessalonians 3:14-15)

We are not the only true Christians or church.
(Luke 9:49-50, Matthew 12:50)

By faith, salvation and obedience are given. Salvation is a free gift from God and obedience must be surrendered to by way of the cross.
(Romans 1:5, 1:17, Ephesians 2:8, James 2:14-26, 1 John 3:9)

There is a heaven and hell. Jesus was crucified, rose from the dead and will soon
return.
(Revelation 20:1-21:1, 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18)

Let us reason

The gate and road are narrow in Jesus. Few enter in and fewer still continue on the path be- because it demands all to follow Jesus. Make no mistake about it, at Sound Doctrine Church you will think, struggle and be driven to reason with God.

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

Through seeking the living God and reasoning with Him in fellowship our sins shall be as white as snow. There are no mindless followers at Sound Doctrine church because the Holy Spirit seeks to crucify each person with Christ. This joy of reasoning with God is grand in Christ and those who persevere past the sufferings of the cross overflow with this fellowship. A fellowship in the church that is like the first church and a fellowship with God that is as pre-conceived as the Apostles.

What makes you different?

Individuals often ask, “What makes your church any different?” The answer is short and simple. We allow the offensive message of the cross to crucify our sins to the point that the true love and joy of Jesus can work in our lives. Sound Doctrine Church is no social club but a very real manifestation of a love only the Holy Spirit can work. Many who visit are amazed at the reality of this love. It is this love that Jesus said all men would know we belong to Him.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

This is not the ordinary love you find in the world and the worldly. Jesus said that God’s love is only revealed in a church if we love as He loved. And Jesus loved by picking up a cruel and crucifying cross. In order to find a resurrected life in a church a cross that crucifies daily the sins in our lives must be present.

There is no resurrection in Christ without a crucifixion first. This love is neither understood nor appreciated by those who reject or turn their backs on God. This is one reason why there is so much persecution towards the message of the cross. For those who reject it, reject love itself and become ever increasingly more bitter with time.

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Per- severe in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
(1 Timothy 4:16) NIV

Join sound doctrine ministries

If the faith is sincere and the conscience good location doesn’t matter. You can join Sound Doctrine by testing us, counting the cost and thoroughly examining everything. Joining is not like signing up for a club and because there are so many different groups on the landscape today we have a joining form that you can request. This form will begin the reasoning process and help you know what to pray about before the Lord. As we all seek the Lord and test everything as Scripture demands, if we believe the Holy Spirit is giving its approval, you can belong to the family at Sound Doctrine Ministries. This fellowship is very joyful and powerful because, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we walk in the Light of God.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

What freedom at Sound Doctrine Ministries we have because “the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Former Salt Shaker Bookstore

The Salt Shaker Christian bookstore, because of persecution by Washington State Authorities, was destroyed and ran out of the town of Enumclaw. Just part of the proof that Sound Doctrine Church was walking the narrow road with Jesus.

For you, brothers became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the same things those churches suffered from the Jews, who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15

It was a beautiful store. A result of the hard work of Sound Doctrine Church. In the store was a free rack because, as Jesus said, "Freely you received, freely give." The following track is a small reproduction of the love that burned in our hearts to give freely.

The Whole Gospel

The Consider Podcast focuses on the importance of living a life of repentance in alignment with the complete gospel. This aligns with 1 Corinthians 2:2, which states, "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."

In short, no idols - just Jesus.

Nothing but the whole gospel is preached and lived on The Consider Podcast.

Articulated Perspectives

The opinions shared are those of the speakers, Timothy and Jacob, stemming from a self-critical stance. They reject sin to allow the righteous truths of God to be conveyed through His Spirit of Truth.

We sincerely regret any errors, misunderstandings, or lapses in knowledge. As stated in Proverbs 18:15: "The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out."

No, Sound Doctrine Church was not a cult; in fact, it was the very antithesis of one. The church bore the fruit of holiness and faith, demonstrated through the love of Jesus, until it was undermined by corrupt authorities.

The opposition, persecution, and prosecution by anti-Christian prosecutors in Washington State serve as clear evidence of the positive impact of Jesus that was present in Sound Doctrine Church.
