I Am Sorry

Guilty? – there are two ways to say I am sorry, but only one will be given mercy.
Most probably have no need to read this as there seems to be no end to those who will hold onto a lie, or sections of lies to keep from saying “I am sorry.”
Such is pride.
Such is the evil fruit of pride.
Just ask the Devil who because of pride has received the sentence of an eternity in hell from The Judges Bench.
There are two styles of “I am sorry” in this world.
Both styles of sorry will take everything but style 1 ends in hell and style 2 in heaven.
It is time to take your pick.

• Style 1 Worldly Sorrow

“Guilty” are the words the judge pronounces as the gavel is swung down on the bench. “I am sorry for any hurt that I might have caused and that I made bad life choices.” This is the style often seen in this world’s courtroom. It is also the reason most return to a life of crime – their sorrow is in getting caught, not in being guilty.
Rightly so, most pour contempt on these last ditch efforts by individuals who seek to ease their punishment from a honest guilty verdict.
Unfortunately this worldly sorrow is often exactly what is preached, lived and self-righteously protected within the Christian Church. It was this church worldly-sorrow that persecuted me during my tenure of preaching.
I will not even address here the inferior confession of sin, the oxymoron apology. Jesus did not suffer and die on the cross to gain from you an apology. Therefore do not sin further by using the word if you claim to be a Christian.
It is this worldly sorrow that the unbeliever often observes justifiably driving them from attending any church.
After 30 years of being a prosecutor, and defense attorney, for Jesus it is those who attempt a worldly sorry plea-bargain before God that go away the most angry. The very ones that laid an evil foundation of lies that were just waiting for someone to market it.

• Style 2 Godly Sorrow

Style 2, Godly Sorrow, gains the forgiveness of God, the approval of godly men and the blessing of being allowed into heaven. For those few who embrace the offense of the cross, listen to an offensive Jesus, pick the cross up and become crucified with Christ there is no regret associated with their godly sorrow.Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:12-14)
Jury Checklist
A checklist required of juries in a worldly court of law would be enough to undo a great amount of injustice, but that matter is for a different day. For now, those experiencing sorrow of sins committed can use the checklist below to help them judge themselves before coming out into the Light.This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)\
Here is what God teaches how to spot an honest “I am sorry.”

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. (2 Corinthians 7:10-11)

Note what is missing on the list. The answer – a lot of talk.

Sorrow From Death

…worldly sorrow brings death

Godly sorrow has no regret when obeyed and lived out, but worldly sorrow brings death.
Seldom is godly sorrow seen in the American church these days let alone it being demanded by preachers, but, if anyone hopes for forgiveness from man and God now is the time to learn the difference between godly and worldly sorrow. Sorry to say many will come to learn, if they ever listen to offensive message of the cross that they are not even a Christian. Something their worldly friends have been talking about behind their backs for years.
Be careful of yourself, and others, who say they are “sorry” but have hidden away for themselves some excuse. Sinful sorry like, “I still think it was a cult but I am sorry for this slight blah, blah, blah I might have committed.” – or – “I am sorry, but you know you were not perfect either.” – or the fill in the blank for me – “I am sorry if there is anything I might have done that offended you.”
Godly sorrow sees very clearly, painfully clearly unto forgiveness that it was the foundation of slander, wanting to believe lies and refusal to accept the truth that caused such destruction. As the worldly courts put it, not only was due-diligence not done but reckless disregard for the truth, evidence and facts were sinned against.
Angry As Hell
Those who have experienced godly sorrow, and fail to be faithful to Jesus are the most vehemently regretful of having belonged to a Christian Church. They are full of venom because they know the judgments of God await them. More so than the unbeliever that stayed away from Jesus.
Godly sorrow, those who persevere in such sorrows through-out their lives regret not a single tear of humility. Those who fall away from Jesus are regretfully and angry as hell because at some point godly sorrow was snuffed out and they now regret the effort.

Stupid, I know.

Stupid, I know. But the nature of sinners is that they strike, and strikes hard at God. And since God is a little big, and kinda out there, His preaches are the easiest target.
Indeed, those filled with regret, who half-way repented, cannot rage hot enough against the preacher that presented them the full message of God, for,  …a man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the Lord . (Proverbs 19:3)
Climb A Tree
Those who enjoined the slander, caused harm or stood around neck deep in the awful sin of silence have a desperate need to climb a tree of repentance. To do, to act, to declare, to go to Jesus first, to not wait, to make right, to weep, to sell, to make restitution, to see every aspect of sin until Jesus brings a forgiveness that all can see.
Not learning in some self-centered, selfish way forgiveness for yourself, rather, becoming sorrowful enough that without thought of self it forces Jesus to visit your house. To act, from the heart in such a way that Jesus declares, “I must stay are your house today.”

If you are willing to climb a tree, repay 4 times the amount, then godly sorrow will be seen by men and rejoiced of in heaven by angles.
In the true account of a man with godly sorrow this was proved by his getting ahead of Jesus, climbing a tree and repaying 4 times the amount. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a ‘sinner.’ ” But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” (Luke 19:2-8)

Remember, God doesn’t do vague and thus neither do I.
If you are ready, want to be made ready then in mercy the next step is coming at you. Just don’t be shocked if the real Jesus calls you a dog. The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.” (Mark 7:26-27)
