Heads up… you’re about to be offended. Take warning the offense of the cross is ahead. That little Pharisee and Sadducee that lives in your dark crooked church heart will be offended. Indeed, your grandmother will be offended so buckle up. As it is with unbelieving pagan all disciples of Jesus will be offended. Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” (Matthew 15:12).
Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?” (John 6:61). Brothers, if I’m still preaching outward Christianity, why am I still being persecuted?
