Let a righteous man strike me. It is a kindness. Let him rebuke me. It is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Wounds from a friend can be trusted. But an enemy multiplies kisses. Better is open rebuke than hidden love. He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another. (Psalm 141:5. Proverbs 27:6, Proverbs 27:5, Proverbs 15:31, Proverbs 27:17).
