Whole Gospel Message

“Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people the whole message of this new life.” (Acts 5:20)

Quick Definition

The Whole Gospel Message is a hunger and thirst for righteousness by accepting all of Scripture with obedience through the crucified life. [1]

  • Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (James 1:21)

Total Dependence

The Whole Gospel Message means a complete surrender and total dependance upon God as an individual obeys all of Scripture by following Jesus at all times.

  • (John 15:5) I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Count The Cost

The Whole Gospel Message means a hating of one’s own life, total surrender of family and friends, denying self, picking up a cross as a person’s followings Jesus.

  • (Luke 14:28) Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?

Christian Religion Rejection

The Whole Gospel Message is the opposite of the Christian religion.

  • (Romans 8:13-14) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Losing Your Life

The Whole Gospel Message life is a daily calling upon the name of the Lord as one rejects his, or her goals and plans for each hour of the day.

  • (Mark 8:35) For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Against Sin

The Whole Gospel Message is to face struggling with sins in one’s life to the point of feeling the suffering. There is no overcoming sin in a person’s life without suffering as Jesus causes the pain.

  • (1 Peter 4:1) Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

Meaning of Believe

To be saved, to begin a life of calling on the name of the Lord one must surrender to the water, blood and the Holy Spirit of Jesus. In short, all of this comes together in water baptism.

  • (1 John 5:5-8) Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. This is the one who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

Fear & Trembling

The Whole Gospel Message is to enter into a holy life of fear and trembling as a person works out their salvation.

  • (Philippians 2:12) Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
