The Call
Everything on The Consider Podcast and website has to do with the call for all men and women to repent. Such is an offer of mercy for those willing to follow Jesus by hating their life and picking up their cross. After all, even the demons believe in God, but they are terrified. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder. James 2:19
Working Mothers The Dirge
Text Working Mothers The Dirge
There are two versions of this publication. One version is the flute and the other is a dirge. In Matthew 11:17, Jesus discusses the spiritual point of a flute and a dirge. For more on this, you can obtain a free copy of the publication entitled The Tone. Each publication uses the same scriptures but the delivery is different. The Holy Spirit is in both, but like the rainbow, the colors are different. In the same way, the colors may be varied, but it is all Light that a woman should be busy at home.
Busy at home
It is a sin for married mothers to work outside the home. Older women must teach the younger women how to love their husbands and, I quote the Bible, “to be busy at home.” Every church and women’s ministry should uphold, defend, and proclaim this sound doctrine, fully rebuking and rejecting any woman pastor, teacher, or leader who does not teach this.
To teach what is “in accord with sound doctrine” includes teaching “younger women to love their children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home.” When this issue that should beat in a woman’s heart does not become the central focus, then a ministry maligns the Word of God. Let’s define malign because it sounds too mild. Malign means to speak harmful untruths, to slander God’s Word, and to speak evil when one should declare truth. The word means to abuse, malign, and disparage sound doctrine.
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. (Titus 2:1-5)
If your church does not teach and demand this sound doctrine, then avoid it as a rebellious, sinful organization. Anyone who visits a Christian church should inescapably know that they teach that a woman’s role is to be busy at home. Or, as the New American Standard Bible puts it, “workers at home.”
Babbling extremes
Do not even consider taking before God extreme excuses. Let no one be found a fool before God by saying, “So a wife can never leave the house, go on a trip, or teach a Bible class?” Or, “What about the poor? Should they stay home and starve?” Or, “What about the single women? Should they just wait at home until they get married?” Those who choke on gnats often angrily utter such questions.
You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel. (Matthew 23:24)
Through all the sputtering excuses and whitewash justifications, the “camel” is this: mothers must be busy at home and the first calling of women is to marry and raise godly children for the Lord. A young woman must not pray or discover her gifts because God spelled it out in black and white—a woman’s calling is to be busy at home. Anything else would be a very rare exception. In fact, this is a salvation issue. God made woman for one primary purpose and the fact she has a womb should make that purpose obvious. This is why Paul, inspired by God, wrote that raising children saves a woman.
But women will be saved through childbearing–if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. (1 Timothy 2:15)
Again, shall we choke on a gnat by calling all birth control a sin and what about couples who cannot have children? Most certainly not. But we will come before a holy God and surrender our wills and opinions so that our hearts beat with the heart of God in regards to those women who are busy at home and raising godly children. God’s heart resides with those older women, who, after years of picking up their crosses and following Jesus, can make the road a little smoother for young mothers. But the question begs itself. Where are the older women who have crucified themselves enough to self and surrendered the sinful call of the world to fulfill their potential? Where are the women who, in quietness and humility, love their husbands and raise godly children?
Spiritual abortion clinics
We can easily fire up many people about abortion. Who protests and rebukes, however, the church for daycare centers that allow a husband and wife to both work outside the home? They sacrifice the very lives of their children to strangers. Think of it: by the time parents go to work, pick up the kids and run errands, they perhaps spend two hours with their children. And they dare call themselves parents? They sacrifice their children to “ministry,” success, and self-fulfillment, but then lift up hands to God in church. God only sees blood stains from the lives of their children sacrificed to the idols of this world.
On the very day they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my sanctuary and desecrated it. That is what they did in my house. (Ezekiel 23:39)
Like the world, the church loves the movies, cartoons, and story books that tell our daughters to make the most of themselves. Like the world, Christians buy into the lie that a submissive wife who loves her husband and children is an abhorrent thing. Even among those who contend a husband should lead the home, if he really let himself be led of the Holy Spirit, the wife would be the first to run to others and declare her husband as unloving.
Whether you choose to accept God’s Words about women’s role, the evidence is clear. Indeed, the guilt that most working mothers feel comes from God telling them to repent. As we look around, we can easily see the world spinning out of control. Women do not know how to love their children, resulting in the selfishness and rebellion we see running rampant today. Jesus said such things would occur toward the end. Amazingly, the church leads the way in promoting that a woman can have God and be a working mother and neglect essential doctrine. Children rebel against their parents because they abandoned them at the doorsteps of babysitters and daycare centers. Mothers abandoned their children for work, fun, and other self-interest goals.
Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. (Mark 13:12)
Matter of love
This isn’t complicated, but a matter of love. Those who love their children want to stay home with them and those who love them- selves more than God would rather do something else. Women who prefer ministry, working, or fulfilling themselves in some other way over raising children are stone cold and void of love. For this reason, Jesus said it is better to tie a millstone around someone’s neck and toss her into the sea than to hinder a little one. God will have no trouble finding large millstones to tie around the neck of unloving mothers—He will use their hearts of stone.
And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck. (Mark 9:42)
So many ministries pride themselves on upholding the Bible and only preaching Jesus. Yet, you never hear a sermon with the offense of the cross on this topic. When people say, “Just give me Jesus!” they mean let God fulfill my selfish goals through His Son. Women today want their peace, rest, and joy but have no desire of giving up such things as Jesus did. We hardly see the selfless love of Jesus today because the home has been abandoned for the sake of self. How much do we cause little ones to sin because they did not have a mother busy at home loving them?
If it seems financially impossible to stay at home and raise your children, then go to your church with those needs. Receive the heart of God that has some faith and trust for God to provide and the zeal that works out the perfect will of God. The first church had all things in common. They shared everything they had and met one another’s needs. Granted, there are many things to consider, many different situations and hearts that must be dealt with. Let us, however, begin in the perfect will of God and His love will guide in all things. If you claim to have faith in Jesus, then the only thing that counts is love. Love your family in accordance with God’s holy plan and will by being busy at home.
Love, joy, forgiveness
If we want the love of God, the forgiveness of Jesus and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, then let this neglected and rejected doctrine ring true in our homes, churches, and ministries. Without it, don’t bother calling yourself a Christian because you only malign the Word of God.
Proverbs 31
Often, women attempt to use the “noble wife” of Proverbs 31 to justify working outside the home. When we view Proverbs through the love of Christ, we can clearly see that it speaks of a wife, not a single woman, and this woman is definitely busy at home. In fact, she is very busy and productive at home. As Proverbs 31:24 reveals, “She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.” In other words, if we read Proverbs 31 for exactly what it declares, we see a wife who does the womanly thing of sewing and making clothes. She doesn’t work at the local department store selling someone else’s products; she is not a fashion designer; she doesn’t work at a clothing factory, but makes garments in her home that she sells to the “merchants.” This woman does not work in the business world but sells to those who do. She is a mother and wife who lays down her life as Jesus did, which gives us a shining example of the love of God (John 15:13). Those who do not place taking care of their husband and children as the foremost will of God are hypocrites in the name of Jesus. For when it comes to sound doctrine, the only thing that counts is expressing God’s love.
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. (Galatians 5:6b)

Former Salt Shaker Bookstore
The Salt Shaker Christian bookstore, because of persecution by Washington State Authorities, was destroyed and ran out of the town of Enumclaw. Just part of the proof that Sound Doctrine Church was walking the narrow road with Jesus.
For you, brothers became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the same things those churches suffered from the Jews, who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15
It was a beautiful store. A result of the hard work of Sound Doctrine Church. In the store was a free rack because, as Jesus said, "Freely you received, freely give." The following track is a small reproduction of the love that burned in our hearts to give freely.
